WINE DRINKING IS A RITUAL WE ALL ENJOY
BUT WATCH YOUR WAISTLINE!

We’re not going to beat about the bush – alcohol can be fattening! This is due to empty calories that provide no nutrients and instead trigger the storage of “bad fats” mainly where you don’t want them! The result is extra weight that is difficult to shift and feeling negative about your appearance. This is a real dilemma for the French with their traditional fondness for wine drinking. According to Jean-Pierre Corbeau, a food and consumption sociologist, “wine is part of the way the French enjoy food and also how they socialise”.

In recognition of the French love of wine, the Vinadeis wine cooperative has launched a range of non-alcoholic “wine”, under the Bonne Nouvelle brand, offering drinking enjoyment without the guilt.

THE PLEASURE OF DRINKING WINE
WITHOUT THE CALORIES!

The process? After following all the stages of a classic vinification, the wine’s alcohol is evaporated in a distillation process that takes place under vacuum at low temperature to disperse the alcohol molecules. This process preserves aromas and vitamins, while removing alcohol and reducing calories. There is therefore only 20 kcal per glass* from the Classique and Sparkling ranges, 16 kcal for Merlot and 19 kcal for the Syrah and Chardonnay, compared to 70 kcal for a traditional glass of wine (red, white or rosé). But some wines can hide even more calories! There is over 100 kcal in a glass of sweet white wine and around 150 kcal in the case of a Vin Doux Naturel.

Although the Bonne Nouvelle beverages are low in calories, they remain full of flavour. Their wide array of aromas and fruity flavours are the result of a stringent selection process respecting tight specifications in order to offer you real drinking pleasure.
They are available in four ranges and nine products, to suit all palates and drinking occasions:

• Les Classiques (the Classic range): red, white and rosé
• Les Cépages (the Varietal range): Merlot, Chardonnay, Syrah rosé and Muscat
• Les Aromatisés (the Flavoured range): Rosé Pamplemousse (rosé flavoured with grapefruit)
• Les Fines Bulles (the Sparkling range): White

Thanks to the alcohol-free Bonne Nouvelle alternative, wine lovers wishing to get fit or simply lose a bit of weight before the summer no longer have to stick to sparkling water at parties or family meals. Now you can watch your weight and still be in good humour!
